Money in the Philippines

Be  alert to fake counterfeit P200 bills in the Philippines.  Expats need to be especially careful not to violate any laws of the Philippines, which would make them a target of deportation.  Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has expressed alarm over a suddent increase of counterfeit P200 bills in the Tacloban City area, as well as other parts of Eastern Visayas.  The bank’s deputy director said there has also been the appearance of P100, P500 and P1,000 bills circulating in the city.  So be alert and be sure not to circulate any bills that seem suspect to you.
